Lily’s Second Birthday Party (3/5/11)

There was no breathing room at our house at Lily’s first birthday party so I knew that we needed to have her second birthday party somewhere else if I wanted to invite all of the people on our list and have room for the kids to run around. Lily’s favorite place in the world is “BurgerFries” aka McDonald’s so that seemed like the natural choice. Unfortunately, her best friend Jack planned his birthday party on the same day so he could not attend. The attendance was reduced even further by the snowstorm that struck that afternoon. But we were so grateful that so many people that we love braved the slippery roads to be with us. It was a really fun party.

The invite. Dora themed, of course:

After eating, it was present time. Lily really liked this personalized drink bottle and Little People car from Robin and Lee:

She was very happy about this Diego doll from mama and dada:

Lily loved all of her presents and wanted to play with all of them at the same time. Here she is showing everything off to grandma:

Lily is still a little bit scared of Lee so he snuck in this picture with her so she wouldn't cry:

The party crew:

Lily started crying when we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her so we sped through the song as quickly as possible:

She was happy again once the clapping started:

Yummy chocolate cake:

The snowstorm was raging outside when we went to leave. Paul helped some people clear their vehicles and was completely covered in snow when he came back in:
