Lily's 18th Week (6/29/09 - 7/5/09)

On Monday, Lily had another physical therapy appointment. Paul took her since I worked at the Brighton Health Center that day. The physical therapist was very pleased with her progress. She is super strong and only has a slight bit of asymmetry now. She has actually overcompensated a bit due to our diligence in working on her neck strength on her left side. Sherry's only concern was that Lily seems to be rolling over to the left a lot more than the right. Even when a toy is presented on her right side, Lily will roll left then scoot over to it. We will have to work on that. From now on, we will go to monthly physical therapy assessments.
Here is Lily with Nate at Kirsten's house that afternoon:

Being a goofball in her swing Tuesday morning:

Getting ready to go to Kirsten's that chilly morning:
Lily had a blowout Tuesday at Kirsten's and returned to us in a different outfit. Here she is in Keegan's old Nikes. Baby shoes are so darn adorable:
On Wednesday, Lily turned four months old. My how time flies. Sadly, I haven't even finished mailing out her three month pictures to everyone! We did some shopping after work at Kohl's where Paul played an evil trick on me. When I came out of the dressing room, he was standing there with an empty stroller looking all nonchalant. He had it angled away from me but I could see that Lily was missing right away. When I asked where she was, he said that some lady on the other side of the store asked if she could hold her. I figured that Paul was not so stupid as to leave her with a stranger... maybe. I made him take me over to where she was and was getting really frustrated with him because he was walking so slowly. When we got to the kids' section it turned out it was Kirsten who had Lily! She was out shopping with her sister-in-law. Kirsten bought Lily a cute red, white, and blue dress and we bought a Tony Hawk shirt for Nate and a set of lip glosses for Keegan. When we got home, Lily fell asleep on Paul:
Then Paul fell asleep too:
Lily was very cute and happy Friday morning:

Here she is with Kirsten. Her hat made by Grandma Chris matched her outfit perfectly:
Still looking adorable in the outfit on her way home from Kirsten's:

All smiles with mommy Thursday night:
Since Independence Day fell on a Saturday, we got Friday off of work instead. It was lovely to have a long weekend with Lily. Paul worked outside all day Friday while Lily and I hung out. After his shower, he had a little daddy/daughter time:

I got Lily dressed in her adorable cute red, white, and blue dress that Kirsten bought her and we decided to go out and do something fun. Here is Lily in her dress:

Before we left, we fed her rice cereal for the second time. Since Lily sits up really well and has such an interest in food, her doctor said that she could start it at four months. Our first try was on Thursday but we were too occupied to take pictures. It is a bit messy and most of it ends up on her bib but she has fun:

After some rice cereal, she nursed to take care of the rest of her hunger. She fell asleep nursing:
I have been majorly in the mood for fish and chips from Claddagh Irish Pub in Lansing ever since Todd's graduation party so we drove there for dinner. While we were there we called Amy and Wynn and asked if they wanted any visitors for the evening. They were game so after dinner we went over to their house for a nice visit.
Saturday was the 4th of July. Paul worked in the yard again for most of the day while Lily and I played. Here she is in her exersaucer. She loves it:
Who is that adorable baby in the mirror?
All the playing exhausted her:
When she woke up, I dressed her in the cute onesie that I got her that says "Baby's First Fourth":

Smiling at mommy:
Then looking at daddy:

More pictures of my patriotic baby:

We went over to our coworker Karen's house. Her husband, Steve, had bought a bunch of fireworks and launched them out over the lake that they live on. He bought an impressive array of fireworks. There were also other people on the lake launching some really cool ones so we had a really good show.

Watching fireworks with mommy:

And daddy:
Lily loved the fireworks again. She tried to fall asleep during them but they were pretty loud so they woke her up many times but she didn't seem to mind.
Sunday was our nephew Mark's open house in Zeeland. We got to see Paul's parents again and Lily got to meet her Aunt Kathy. This is only the second of Paul's six siblings to meet Lily since the other four live out of state. It was a really nice day and we had a good time at the open house.
Here is Lily all dressed up at Kathy's:
Sleeping on Grandma Maureen:
Having fun with Dwight's nephew:
The long weekend was really pleasant but not at all relaxing with a lot of driving. However, we were happy to spend it with family and friends.
